In a surprising partnership that challenges usual predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "A strange confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned rituals and fearsome transformations reverberate through the shadows." The narrative features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden cult.
The questline focuses on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
